While 2017 draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on the past twelve months and focus on the next action-packed year ahead.
This year, I was happy to be able to have doubled my audience and engagement from January to December and be still growing my brand, which is crazy to think how that has only been one year. And in all honesty, that’s the best part of my what I do, growing my brand, increasing my audience so that I can meet new people and create new networks with people I may never have been able to connect with. This year I was lucky enough to work with heaps of new clients and businesses, such as Inkkas Australia, Dezi’s Photography, and The Bag Collective, just to name a few. No day is ever the same when you can incorporate the amazing world wide web into doing what you love.
This year is also the year that I took a chance on myself and changed jobs from a job in retail that I had been at for the past four years and started up at an office job in an electricity company. Making the jump from a job that I could do easily, to a job where I had to be trained up from the bottom and learn new skills and abilities in a completely different environment was always going to be difficult and a little nerve-wracking and still to this day I’m learning new things about my industry and how customer’s needs are always changing and altering, but that’s really what keeps us going. Who wants to be stuck doing the same thing day in, day out? Not me, that’s for sure.
This year I was able to share with my loving partner our 5 year anniversary, spending a well-deserved night out in the CBD at the amazing Chancellor Hotel and enjoy a peaceful, exotic Italian dinner at Bogetta. We can now only look forward to the many future anniversaries ahead.
We all know that everything has its ups, and especially its downs. I experienced this back in November, where I had my first car accident. Thankfully it was only minor and that no one was hurt. Even though it was a stressful and difficult event, I’m glad to have experienced it. I was lucky enough to have it occur close to my parent’s home and that they were there almost immediately and that I had my calm and collected friend with me, unharmed as well as on top of the situation. Even though it was an accident and the lovely guy was extremely apologetic for the accident (absolutely a silver lining), it just goes to show that anything can happen, and that each day is simply a new day you should take everything you can out of it.
So cheers and let’s raise our glasses to the year 2017, to its good times and the bad times, the friends made, the challenges faced and the growth that has come to all of us, and let’s look forward to the exciting new year ahead of us and what it has in stock!
Have a safe and happy New Year!
